I like it when people do what they say they’re going to do. Being accountable. Being honest. Having integrity. All that matters to me. Sometimes it’s hard to keep up with it and sometimes I drop the ball. But when that happens, leaving the ball on the ground is not a good option.
I recently experienced a situation that gives me faith that other folks are ‘out there’ with similar values. Dianne Lopez from VoyageATL, an on-line magazine (http://voyageatl.com) contacted me a few weeks ago and asked about my studio. We chatted on-line for a bit and she asked if she could feature Stuart Hasson Studios in her magazine. I was skeptical to say the least. There is so much junk on the internet, SPAM is so prevalent, obnoxious and ubiquitous. I knew there HAD to be a catch… had to be!
Now I’ve never met Dianne (I consider myself a pretty positive guy. I’ll tend to give someone the benefit of the doubt before shutting them down.) so I listened to her proposal about the article. She seemed to be okay, and we proceeded. It took a few hours to answer her questions and fine tune the article until we were both satisfied.
Today I received a message from Dianne, thanking me for helping with the magazine and a link to the article. Not one catch. No Bait & Switch from this lady. No ‘Buy an advertisement and we’ll publish the article’! It was so refreshing.
I like it when that happens. Thank you Dianne.
