When you’re updating your Business Portrait / Headshot. don’t just stop at 1 Pose!!
In the first 10 minutes of your session, when you come dressed in a business suit, the 1st set of poses usually begins with standing; cross your arms, hand in pocket, turn left, turn right, no smile, little smile, nice smile.
Then quickly transition to sitting on a stool or chair; turn left,… right, lean this way and that, smile.. you get the drill. After that, take off your jacket and go through those sequences again.
I can EASILY create 30 different versions of you in your 1st outfit. And that in the 1st 10 minutes! Imagine if you bring two or three outfits? How about changing the backdrop?
You update these pictures every 2 – 3 years… five years sometimes! But the point is that you want to have choices.
I talk a lot about getting variety from your photographer. Your photographer is working for YOU! When you hire a pro, GET VARIETY. You don’t need to buy all of the images but at least you’ve got options and I think that’s a big benefit to you. It will help you tell your story on several different platforms.
